1948 Rolex Vintage Mens WWII Era Rounded Bubbleback, Ref. 5010, Stainless Steel - Very Fine & Rare

Rolex

Item No. 6476H

Today's offering showcases this classic and uncommon Ref. 5048 rounded Bubbleback made circa 1948.

Named "Bubblebacks" by watch collectors, due to the heavily domed case backs needed to accommodate the large automatic movements, these were Rolex's first Oyster Perpetual (waterproof and automatic) watches.

Unlike most Bubbleback models, whose cases are straight across at the lugs, the case on this reference is rounded.

Housed in one of Rolex's watertight Oyster cases, this wristwatch originally offered its owner protection against water, dust, and perspiration. Inside the rugged case Rolex put into service their early self-winding so-called Perpetual Chronometer movement, keeping the watch powered by movements of the wrist.

It still has its original "Rolex +" winding crown. It presents very nicely and the dial has been previously refinished to salmon and is bright and clean.

For the finishing touch we have equipped it with a brand new crocodile strap and it has a Rolex buckle making it ready for immediate enjoyment.

Included with the purchase is a one-year C.O.T. warranty on the movement and its function and a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity.
